Scienz Of Life – Coming Forth By Day: The Book Of The Dead
New York è da sempre fucina di grandi novità per l’Hip-Hop underground, penso ai Company Flow, agli Anti-Pop Consortium e ai Cannibal Ox, tanto per fare tre nomi. Nella categoria rientrano anche i Scienz Of Life, gruppo che si avvale della supervisione di Bigg Jus (che infatti produce un brano) e non a caso pubblica per la Sub Verse il suo primo disco dall’enigmatico titolo “Coming Forth By Day: The Book Of The Dead”. Progetto che, bisogna ammetterlo, è molto, molto strano – ma a me piace tantissimo.
Atmosfere cupe, tanta sperimentazione, hardcore, visionarietà, misticismo, suoni sconnessi, flow inarrestabili: questo, in breve, il cosmo degli scenziati, trio che comprende i due mc’s Lil’ Sci e Savage Messiah, più il produttore ID 4 Winds (fratello del primo). Di certo, la qualità è altissima e, per gli amanti del genere, si tratta di un’uscita imperdibile, munita di pezzi robusti come “Ghetto’z Tah Galaxiez”, “Divine Powerz”, “E1-E2” e “Back Tah Galaxiez”, pura e semplice pazzia lirico-strumentale. Non per tutti, non facile, non immediato; ma per chi riuscirà a entrare nelle stranezze di “Coming Forth By Day” sarà un’autentica goduria.
